Onell Design Glyos Armorvor Neo Phase Action FigureThe Armorvor Neo Phase is the end of an era. Along with the Rig Crew Mimic Armorvor, these two guys round out the final run of wolf-headed Armorvors - the furry head goes into retirement and will be replaced by something new in late October. Until then, these two figures - and a fifth run of the super-popular clear colorless version - seem to be available in the Onell Design store. They're quite nice, and if you never picked up an Armorvor I'd strongly advise you do so now as it really is the last chance to get this head outside eBay. Over two years we've had dozens of the little guy, but this is the first and only clear plastic one to feature painted details. The Infection Red and Stealth clear colorless releases are undecorated.

Onell Design Glyos Armorvor Neo Phase Action FigureThis time around, a bright clear green has been used to make for a striking toy. It reminds me of the old black-and-green Zenith monitor used on an old Apple II computer in my home when I was young, and the black highlights really drive the old graphics idea home. It's sparse, and with the furry head's white eyes it's also a little spooky. The helmet has painted eyes and a visor, while a few details on the body bring it to life.

The black core, wrists, knees, and a couple of other spots get a small, black highlight. It's a nice detail, but truth be told it doesn't bring much new to the table. One thing I wish we saw on this figure before the furry wolf head run ended was panel lines - I'm sure it would cost more, but I'm curious what the furry head would have looked like given that extra bit of detail. It probably wouldn't have looked so great on this green, which has a wonderfully ghostly property in a dark room that absorbs all the detail. It's a green mass - you need a lot of brightness to see all the ridges and panels, otherwise it feels like a figure that is in the process of emerging form another universe. Along with the Rig Crew Mimic, it's a nice send-off to the two-year domain of this particular head design.

While by no means essential - you have a lot of great options from which to choose - this is a nice, bright figure and one of only three clear plastic Armorvors produced to date. Sure, there's over 20 flavors from which to choose, but precious few are in any clear colors - or clears at all. If it's still available, and you haven't yet got any Armorvor figures, get it while it's cheap. Prices on eBay have been pretty stable ($10-$15 for most styles) now that there are nearly two dozen Armorvors out there, but there won't be any new wolf heads - so buy accordingly.
