Of all the Stunticon limbs, Decepticon Offroad has to be the #2 best. Breakdown and Dead End are sort of obnoxious in the hood and head areas. Dragstrip is a great, simple toy. Offroad is simple and is also a new character, with a decent amount of articulation and that whole opening-leg thing that we saw on Superion's limbs.
According to TFWiki, the head is an update of Ruckus and at one point this toy could've been Ruckus. Because of trademarks and other issues, we got a new guy instead and I'm totally fine with that. This figure looks great with a grey truck shell, blue interior limbs, and a sickly green face making it stand out from a lot of other recent toys. A purple axe with a silver blade fits in his closed fists, which have sculpted fingers on the inside. There's even a Decepticon sigil on his red chest, making this a fairly colorful character for someone we never met before a recent comic book.
It's a truck! Of all the wave 2 Decepticons, his transformation is easiest. The legs open up and swallow the thighs, the arms fold in, and the truck hood covers the head. It's super simple and there's even a little ridge on the truck bed on which to mount the foot/hand piece. The axe plugs in the side of the truck thanks to a 5mm peg, and everything stays together nicely. As toys go this is a fun one - you don't even need to consider the whole limb thing for it to be decent.
The truck has silver wheels, red squiggles on the doors, and red windows - basically, he's a Wildrider wannabe. The dark grey vehicle looks pretty decent with some silver highlights - and headlights - and absolutely nothing on the back end. They were clever about what got paint where, resulting in a superior robot and a pretty good truck... depending on how you look at it, that is.
His default Combiner position is as a leg, and he makes a perfectly nice one. With Breakdown on the other side, they tend to rub up against each other and kind of get in the way, but they provide a stable base for Menasor to stand around on your shelf. As an arm, he's also pretty good but I think he makes a better leg. There's not a lot of color to him so if you swapped him out with another toy, odds are it wouldn't really hurt the Menasor bottom line. And given that Brake-Neck is due out soon, you are probably planning on doing exactly that.
I assume if you enjoy Transformers you're buying Combiner Wars because the toys combine really well and are a decent size. They aren't cheap, but the size and overall fun factor of the toys tend to be worthwhile. The complete Superion is a little more fun than the complete Menasor, but as a stand-alone toy Wildrider is one of my favorites. This is one of those toys that I wish wasn't a combiner limb because it destabilizes Menasor to remove his leg. If the chance comes up to buy extras of this guy cheap I probably will, it's just generally a pleasant little toy that doesn't upset me in any way and that alone is high praise.
