Wave 2 of Bot Shots was sorely lacking in bad guys, but at least we got Decepticon Brawl. Made up partially of the same bits that were used for Megatron, this armored vehicle takes the movie character and sort of G1s him up a bit. Note the sculpted facial hair, sort of, on his face and his nifty, blocky appearance. You know, the way it was meant to be.
Packaged in robot mode, transformation is spring-loaded as always. The robot can be folded into the armored vehicle quickly, just tuck in the arms, feet, and hood of the car and you're done. Piece of the cake.
The detail in the figure is good as always, and you can see little rockets and other small sculpted details in both modes. There's not a lot of paint here, but as simple, "game" figures it makes sense that Hasbro would want to keep costs low. After all, these things can usually be had for about four bucks. While the close-up shot of the face looks bad, the paint slop isn't as pronounced in person, or maybe my eyes are just bad. It's a relatively tiny figure, so you don't notice the lines being uneven as much in person.
So yeah, here you go. As always there are no accessories and the figure has a rock/paper/scissors game in his chest with guns, fists, and swords. I don't get it either. But it's a nice looking figure, and well worth the asking price at retail.
Troubleshooting Note: There are two screws on each figure's chest. If you tighten these, the trigger is a little jumpier. If you loosen it, it weakens it a bit. Depending on how well the figures do (or don't) spring up, you may want to keep a screwdriver around to adjust them to your liking.
