The Neo Gatekeeper Viyer Sarvos is blisteringly bright and therefore a thing of beauty. Onell Design's Glyos line included story as an important component since day one, and when I got in to the line (probably closer to day 1,000) I found it hard to crack - the names were tough to spell, but the toys looked cool. Several years into it, I can safely say that I'm perfectly fine ceasing pretending that I think the story is ever going to tell me anything useful and I'm just going to enjoy these things for what they are - fun figures with little flashes of narrative which have great art and don't seem to be going anywhere. It's like getting a glimpse at a 1980s mini-comic... it's there, it's neat, and it does a good job selling you on the product (which, hopefully, you've bought.)

I like Sarvos but I don't collect this form religiously - the paint jobs vary nicely, and the colors look good on this design. The black, glossy eyes hide whatever its true intentions are, and the rounded helmet head looks great.

The alternate head is a wrinkled, pink form with white eyes. It looks pretty evil... but is it?!? I have no idea. Let's say sure. Really, all that matters is that it's fun, and it's fun.

The roughly 3-inch figure was constructed with the Glyos system, meaning you can swap around parts and pieces like the head. This is great, but I've found that over time I never actually want to swap anything other than the head. Sure, it's nice, but Onell Design did such a great job decorating this figure it seems unnecessary to screw with it. The pink paint on the purple plastic head perfectly matches the pink plastic hands and feet - this is difficult to pull off well, as you've no doubt seen on other toy lines which have multiple different whites or reds on a figure that's meant to be a single color.

This is one of my favorite figures - I love the colors and the form, the big hands and round head give this figure an utterly alien, cartoony, and ca. 1991 appearance. Bright pinks are a thing you just don't see in boy's toys much, so it's good to see someone carry the torch of what companies like Hasbro were doing in the early 1990s today. New Sarvos figures enter circulation on a regular basis, but each low-run figure like this one tends to sell out quickly. If you really love pink and purple, this is a worthwhile purchase. The figure seems to be selling for a mere $10 on eBay - basically issue price - so there's really nothing getting in your way of enjoying this figure if you so choose to buy it.
