HasCon 2017 September 2017

Till All Are Redone! I love toys, and probably no line of toys more than Transformers Generations these days. The quasi-retro figures let me buy things I wanted as a kid, in modern versions, that have elbows or other gimmicks The Power of the Primes sounds a lot like another action figure line's swan song, but it's pretty stunning. (So was that other line.) Toys combine and merge, with characters adult collectors have demanded since the first Grimlock in Classics back in 2006.

A panel first thing Friday morning revealed six - yes, six - Dinobots! Grimlock will join Swoop, Sludge, Slug (Slag), Snarl, and Slash - a new Legends-class Velociraptor, and a girl. The Voyager Grimlock combines with four deluxes to make Volcanicus, a Dinobot combiner. Really.

Micronus - a tiny Prime Master, packed with a toy that combines the Pretender shell for Cloudburst with a Targetmaster gimmick, was also revealed.

Later (and not pictured) at a $200 dinner, fans got first glimpses at Optimus Primal - a leader-class toy that turns into Optimal Optimus. Also Rippersnapper, Moonracer, two new deluxe limbs, and Hun-Gurrr in a rough form. Good stuff, if you want Abominus and a new lady combiner to be named later.
