2009 Playmobil Catalog: See It Today!

Want to see a digital version of all the goodies coming to Germany in the next few months? Well, you're in luck! Just Go here (assuming you have the right plug-ins for your browser) and see this new bad boy with 56 pages of new and new-ish sets.

Highlights include:
- New Specials
- Egyptians
- Family home
- Underwater Expedition (awesome)
- Merpeople
- Ghost Pirates
- Church/Wedding sets

I suppose the church theme is to appeal mostly to that little girl fantasy play, much like a doll house. As such, I'm glad to see them appeal to boys with ghost pirates, but some toy stores, comic shops, and muscle cars would be nice too. (And more dinosaurs. And a mammoth. Can't go wrong with those.)

2008 German Catalog Now Online

The official Playmobil site has published a digital version of the 2008 Germany Playmobil Catalog. It's in some proprietary format which does not lend itself to downloading, but you can zoom in and flip through the pages, just like the US one we mentioned earlier.

The bulk of the new sets shown in this catalog will not hit the USA until 2009, with a few exceptions. You can expect to see the "Specials" range around the same time they hit Germany, give or take, but everything else should be coming next year. New themes include Divers, Egypt, a new Police Station, and a new Modern House.

2008 US Catalog Now Online

The official Playmobil site has published a digital version of the 2008 Playmobil Catalog. It's in some proprietary format which does not lend itself to downloading, but you can zoom in and flip through the pages.

If you're new to this toy line, it's worth noting that the bulk of products offered in the USA were previously available in Germany a year earlier. That means if you troll German eBay-- and we suggest that you do-- you'll find that a lot of these "upcoming" items are already available. This may beg the question "so where's the 2008 Germany catalog?" Well, we'll let you know as soon as we find a link to it.
