Alternate Earth's Finest! Behold, the most exciting new license of Comic-Con 2012! Super 7 got the license for numerous retro products based on ALIEN, and will be working to make things so old-feeling your head will explode. Based on prototypes seen in an old issue of Tomart's Action Figure Digest, at least 5 figures are coming based on Kenner's unproduced 1979 3 3/4-inch line. They will be done to look as closely to the original prototypes as possible and the packaging artwork will also look appropriate to the 1979 style. Figures of Kane in Space Suit, Ash, Dallas, Ripley, and an Alien Xenomorph are planned so far.
Other line extensions were mentioned, including collectible glassware similar to what Burger King sold for other licenses in that era. Of course, nothing beats honest-to-goodness ca. 1979 Kenner sculpting and engineering, and these limited articulation collectible figures have no release date yet. Having said that, I'll be waiting on pins and needles, I'm so unbelievably excited here.
