Is that the ship from E.T.? It is! Factory Entertainment is a great bunch of guys - I've known them for years, and I always love to stop by to say hi to Jim, Barry, and Jordan whenever I get the chance. On Preview Night I only got to swing by to take some quick shots of the mothership from E.T., the Enterprise from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and some other high-end ship replicas when passing by. Which is bad, because they had a lot more to show there.

I spent a chunk of time talking to Jim about the props and got some great demos of the new Star Trek phasers. The Strange New Worlds one in particular was cool, as it has a removable hand phaser on the top and looks a lot like a modernized 1966 model. It's wonderful. The Medical Tricorder has an impressive screen, a removable scanner, and tons of lights, sounds, and blinky things - it seems like it's better than the actual prop. A Type II The Next Generation phaser was also shown with a lot of elements from the episode "The Ensigns of Command", the one where he has to deal with stubborn colonists and a phaser that won't quite work. These things are being produced in metal and have quite some heft to them - they're pricey, but they're the real deal. Minus the whole "death ray" element.
