ToyFinity Mordles Night Mordle Vinyl FigureIt's green! The Mordles Night Mordle Vinyl Figure brings you elements of two of Hasbro's bigger 1980s properties, and applies them to Mordles. You get the "cutie mark" (nee Tramp Stamp) of My Little Pony with colors and themes reminiscent of the 1980s G.I. Joe Night Force figures of 1988-1999. As a series of repaints, those two toy lines are a perfect fit for this, the fifth big vinyl 4-inch Mordle.

While previous figures came bagged and unassembled, this one had the legs plugged in on arrival (in my case, August 25). The mold is showing some age, or I just got lucky - the legs don't plug in particularly flush with the body like previous vinyl Mordles, and the back of the figure feels a little more rough. There's a little bit of streaking on the back, areas are a little glossier for some reason. It might just be the dark military green color, I don't know.

The figure has yellow eyes and teeth, black claws, and a black mouth interior - it's a nice color combination. The ToyFinity crew sent along a club-only email with a wonderful backstory about "Dr. Snake" finding Mordle eggs on Earth and engineering them to be terrible night warriors to fight the "Combat Dudes." It's clever and a nice way to stay true to the line's roots of integrating the Rocks and Bugs and Things toy line with "robots, heroes, and soldiers" as opponents for these nifty toys. With so many toy collectors segregated by brand, the "plays with" conceit is increasingly rare - but it fits in nicely. The tampo on each side of the Mordle's hip features a Mordle skull with a knife and a lightning bolt behind it, all inside a black bomb. It's a great design - a t-shirt would be nice. (I wear adult small these days, if anyone out there is considering the idea.)

I'm elated that the ToyFinity crew added the tampo for some newness to the mold, and I hope that my mold being a little funky in the connection points, but otherwise it retains the charm of the sculpt and the toy is still neat on my desk. Mine included a clear colorless "Vision Mordle" with blue painted eyes, and a surprising variant Explorer Mordle which I assume was just an error - note the image below, it didn't have a painted mouth. My previous version did. Interesting, no? Anyway, go ahead and get yourself one of the big vinyl Mordles, as always, they're pretty fun. Maybe you don't need them all, though.
