Warning/guarantee: I consulted on the Bif Bang Pow! Venture Bros. The Monarch Action Figure and as such am a biased fanboy. It's not often that you get to work on the toys for your favorite TV show, and, overall, it basically turned out exactly as planned. Rather than make traditional modern action figures, the mighty Monarch was rendered in 1970s-esque Mego-styling, matching the era of the show nicely. Mego bodies sport 14 points of articulation, just like this one, and the hard armor shell over his costume is not easily removed, if at all.
This is not the first toy of the Monarch, as Kid Robot made a PVC a few years ago. This one is better. He has curly boots, wrist shooters, and wings that can fold over each other to give the figure a less winged appearance. The head sculpt is really gorgeous, with flexible eyebrows and beard to avoid breakage. It's colorful and looks great, but if you hate Mego toys don't buy this one.
The wing mechanism has a central peg with the four wings circling around it. If you'd like, they can all be "collapsed" behind him, sort of like Buzz-Off from Masters of the Universe. There really aren't any surprises here, so what you see is what you get. Sadly, there are no known plans to introduce a Butterglider accessory for the figure at this time. There are no unknown plans, either. (But man, that'd be SWEET.)
