While The Spoozys never really caught on in the USA, they are available in fine used record stores everywhere on the cheap. This particular CD was sold at concerts and mail order, and features three mixes from their first and so far only US long playing release and a remix of a song that appears on an older Japanese release.
Short and sweet, these kids grew up on the likes of The Plastics and the B-52s, and their blip-filled phat beats are sure to delight fans of oddball Japanese music. As it's a remix CD, it isn't exactly exciting but it does sound particularly interesting in that in some cases, the remixes don't sound anything like the original.
If you're heard previous output of the band, or are looking for a cheap, non-digital way to obtain some of their songs, this is a nice way to go. This isn't as diverse in terms of sound as the Astral Astronauts album, which can probably be had at a used record store for the same price as this EP. As such, if given the option, go for the full album first and grab this if you're looking for more music.
