Frank Miller's Daredevil inspired the Ninja Turtles, so when people see Elektra they'll probably go "oh, she's got sais like Raphael!" Hasbro once again uses their Marvel "Kenner" body for another lady character, because they only have one.
Her sash is shared with Phoenix and other characters, but her head and accessories are unique. Very few women in this line have any accessories, so it's pretty exciting to see them try and do a good job with two gray bladed accessories. She stands well, the belt doesn't get in the way too much, but it's rubbery enough that I could see it decaying over time. We won't know until much later, of course, and it seems her accessories are otherwise pretty superb. Or at least, I like them.
At 3 3/4-inches tall, she doesn't bring a lot of surprises. I like her hat. The hair is good, and the eyes are nice and clear. It's better than anything Kenner would have done in the 1970s, or the 1990s or let's be honest - most of the 1990s. It's nice and clear, giving a more toy-like face than the recent photorealistic faces we've been getting. Which is better? I'm still not sure - but I think this style is the way to go for comic-based characters. She has a bit of a scowl and a tiny bit of eyeliner, which is incredible compared to anything Kenner kids had back in the day. Her costume is literally painted-on, making the most of the existing cuts in the wrists and boots. She's a good example of a toymaker making the most of their existing tooling library, giving us a figure that - while not amazing - is good enough and a lot of fun.
I am not super familiar with all things related to Daredevil, but I do know a good figure when I see it. She's fun to pick up and attack other figures with her sai accessories, and it's not like I'm overwhelmed with lady ninja action figures in this size. I'd say grab yourself an Elektra if you see one at a fair price, for about $10 she's one of the more fun pickups I've had in recent years. Heck, this entire line is really great - I'm sad it's ending, but it's also a good size to stop before it goes to crazy places.
