After years of rumors and requests, Takara of Japan delivers TransFormers figures with a heavy cartoon influence with fan favorite Optimus Prime (a.k.a. Convoy).
Optimus includes no accessories and is posable at the neck, wrists, shoulders, and knees.
Like all the figures in the line, all of Optimus' parts are removable with little force, creating potential for all sorts of custom weirdness for those so inclined. The figure's weapon is part of the hand, which isn't as bad as it might sound. Takara made a great figure here, alas, it isn't much to play with. The sculpt shows a little Gundam influence with its giant feet, and the figure sports a notably brighter-than-it-appears-here paint job.
The clear version of the figure is the same figure with no paint except for a small white Autobot/Cybertron logo on his shoulder. It's an interesting variation, best viewed with a lit background.
A point of interest on both figures is a hole in the back. In Act 2, Takara made a Chase Figure of Optimus holding Megatron in gun mode, which does indeed have a jet pack.
