Masters of the Universe! The relationship between Super 7 and Mattel is more vast than it looks, but I'll leave it to them to reveal the full extent of it. For now, let's talk about what we saw - classic, 1980s-style He-Man figures! He-Man, Skeletor, She-Ra, and Hordak will get retro-style Filmation-esque designs in the 5 1/2-inch format. Joining them will be two legends - He-Ro and Eldor, the Powers of Grayskull figures unceremoniously axed in the late 1980s. Blame Nintendo, blame Eastman and Laird.

These figures as well as vinyl figures, ReAction-style 3 3/4-inch figures, and more will continue with these formats being non-exclusive and supposedly widely distributed. Only the Masters of the Universe Classics figures are definitely to remain direct-to-consumer - but there will be another series of M.U.S.C.L.E. joining the ever-expanding and incredible format of tiny figure sets.
