The OTMFG canon so far has been mostly whimsical designs, but the 3DRetro Robot is actually a store's mascot. This is uncommon - as is a new sculpt suddenly debuting two months in a row, so apparently Brotoctal won't be alone.
Pinker and more rubbery than the very pink and very rubbery OMFG Series 3, this is one of the larger figures in the line with one of the smaller heads in the line. If you cut off the head, the figure is about the same size as a "AA" battery with numerous bulky, round elements that makes it feel like it came out of some alternate universe where Mega Man and Futurama crossed design paths. The tiny head is an inspired way to give this figure a sense of scale - by himself, he looks like he could be the biggest thing you've ever seen... but you know he'll fit in your pocket.
As always, this non-articulated figure does a good job of standing there. Its foot is stamped "3D Retro" while the smooth body is covered in panels and raised rivets - you can really feel them. His torso looks sort of like an upside-down, horrifying clown's face while his limbs proportions may remind you of the sailor man, Popeye. I honestly can't think of a figure with a smaller head - maybe some of the tinier Mini-Cons, but you really have to get up close and squint to make out the tiny eyes, the rivets on the mouth, and the "teeth."
While not an immediate sell-through, this one was available later at night so forgetful people could snag it. This figure will be sold in other colors at the 3DRetro store, but I don't know where that physical location is so I'll just be happy with the two bones I blew on this one. It's a nice little robot and worth getting if you have a shot at it.
