It would be wrong to do a week of glowing toys in October without October Toys' own Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Gwin. Between the OMFG and OTMFG lines, they've contributed several glowing figures to the world. Their figures range from designers all over the world, and some are bigger. Gwin is one of the smallest, roughly the same size as Bit Figs or Fighter Pods. Tiny.
Usually (but not always) on the 15th of the month, October Toys puts out 2 new figures at $2 each. Shipping is cheap, but I always stop by their booth in San Diego for Comic-Con to say hi, linger long enough that I feel creepy, and buy some goodies. At $2 per in person, I always feel like I got a good deal - even if this little guy is tiny, tiny stuff. The seated penguin mascot's detail has been absorbed by the nature of the plastic, its milky finish having a slight off-color tint to it that does a good job of hiding his beak, his big expressive eyes, his white belly, and his fins. He's quite cute, but the way the light bounces off him others may assume he's a portly bowling pin with feet. Non-glow figures show the detail much more nicely, but if you get in close you can still see all of the adorable tiny penguin goodness. He has "OCTOBER TOYS" stamped on the flat bottom, too.
In the 1980s I think my dad would throw a fit paying $2 for something this small, but low-run designer figures are usually worth it. He's sized comparably to some of the recent Ghostbuters blind bags, and was cheaper, and glows better. So if you like penguins, this is an easy one to love - I don't know why it took me so long to show him off here, but there you go. Get one if you can!
