Onell Design Glyos Crayboth Nuldireus Action FigureNot every figure is big, nor painted, nor impressive. Some are merely good. I've got dozens of these critters in various colors, but Crayboth Nuldireus will knock you on your butt due to the insane brightness of the pink. What's that you ask? "Didn't these guys just do a pink one?" Why yes, they did. A promo figure (read: free, not for sale) was given away with orders in May of 2012, with a paler, darker, and more glittery plastic. Neither is superior, both are good in different ways. However the Nuldireus flavor is bright, crazy bright, and looks fantastic in a slightly darker environment. In sunlight, it's just insane how it looks.

The same color was used for a Sarvos and various heads, so you have a few items you can track down in this color. The pink sold out pretty much immediately, an I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that, as of when it came out, there was no other color quite this impressive. I assume other toymakers will take note and start applying it. It out-Barbies Barbie.

Onell Design Glyos Crayboth Nuldireus Action FigureIf you are a Glyos collector, you can skip this paragraph. The figure has 4 joints at the arms and legs, and is sized similarly to vintage Battle Beasts. The limbs are removable at the joint, and are connected to the body by the world-famous Glyos joint. This allows you to swap parts with other figures, letting you beef up the figure with arms or legs from other releases. This particular Crayboth comes unpainted, but about half of them have some deco. I've made Crayboth collecting my core Glyos focus, and I'm one short of having a complete set. They're fun!

All in all it's good. Part of the genius of Onell Design figures is that they aren't so in-your-face extreme that the core appeal is how impressive they are, because time and technology will always bring out more impressive toys which will be rendered less impressive by each new generation. These feel like classic toys. They play like real toys. Heck, they're sized perfectly to menace your kid's Imaginext stuff. I would highly advise getting a Crayboth (any will do) and if you like it, track down this pink one next. I've got a glow-in-the-dark red version of the mold, but this pink one glows in the light. I really dig it, and I hope Onell continues to feed my Crayboth habit with more brightly colored little dudes like this. At $4 they can do no wrong.
