Four Horsemen Outer Space Men 2.0 Xodiac Action FigureObligation is a nasty thing. For some reason I felt a need to buy every last paint variation (minus weapon variants) of this line, so Xodiac exists as part of a set that is sort of frustrating. While Metamorpho 2.0 and Inferno 2.0 have some significant deco differences which make them look and feel different than previously-released figures, Xodiac 2.0 and Astro-Nautilus 2.0 occupy the "don't you already have this?" slot. Obviously there are differences, but they're not necessarily significant enough to warrant big bucks. Of course, if you missed the first Xodiac from 2010, you should buy this one no questions asked. It's better, but not be enough to make it worth re-buying. Well... maybe. I like it but I'm not what you might call "smart."

The most obvious differences here is in the accessories, which go from a yellowish helmet and pink accessories to more of an orange helmet with redder accessories. The metallic suit is a little shinier, and the orange paint is a bit more vibrant. Of course, this vibrant change isn't necessarily significant, as you can probably pick up a dozen figures from Hasbro and find slight differences in the shade of the paint from one to the next. From the pictures, though, you can tell that the one on the right below is slightly better.

One way to tell Xodiac 1.0 from 2.0 is the peg on his neck. 2.0 was cast in red plastic, while 1.0 has a white plastic neck peg. The accessories are of course a tell, but it wouldn't be too shocking if you had the two figures and mixed up which was which.

Four Horsemen Outer Space Men 2.0 Xodiac Action FigureFor whatever reason, bright and shiny works on these figures The deco is closer to the samples from the 1960s, although you never would notice the minor difference without having the figures side-by-side. I certainly didn't. For any collector starting off, the 2.0 Outer Space Men are great figures and worth buying. If you bought the 1.0 set for $40 already, though, I wouldn't necessarily suggest that you make another grab at these unless you're wild about supporting the line or need more Glyos pieces.
