I opened He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Cartoon Collection Catra when she came out, and she's a pretty great figure. She clearly made a mark - the figure actually commands a premium on the secondary market, meaning Mattel didn't make enough and/or she's pretty great. No, she's not as cool as the reboot's version, but you get a cat woman who looks more or less like she did on She-Ra: Princess of Power in the 1980s.

Mattel has seemingly abandoned the 1980s for its cartoon collection, so the likes of Entrapta, Scorpia, and her evil entourage are unlikely to get figures any time soon. But at least we got her.

The figure shares parts with She-Ra [FOTD #2,803], namely pretty much every body part other than the head and costume. The boots are red, and lack the spike heel of the cartoon. (Arguably a good choice.) The bracelets are also red, her cape is red and purple, her mask is red, and her dress lacks the contrast of the animation. Articulation is more than up to snuff, with swivel and bending wrists to complement the rocker ankles. She even has a waist swivel under her dress.

She has no problems standing, and the buck has an excellent range of movement. I assume if she had a steed, she'd be able to ride it fairly well. Her hands seem well-suited to accessories, but Mattel opted to not give her any handheld weapons. Instead, she has a mask that you can slide over her eyes so you can pretend she changes into her cat accessory.

Cat form has no articulation, but has red painted armor, yellow eyes, and white teeth. It's more impressive than most weapons and has paint unlike most sidekick figures, so it makes sense that fans in 2026 are willing to pay a little extra for this one.

I moved her into the Fright Zone once it arrived, and she makes for a great addition to my cartoon Horde collection. As a not-diehard fan of the show, I'm happy with this one and wouldn't really bother to ask for a new or improved take on this particular incarnation of the character. I will, however, show up with money for the Netflix/Dreamworks She-Ra if they ever make a full-blown action figure line. Until then, the rather small Princess of Power outing is good enough for my needs. I don't need the entire Great Rebellion in 5 1/2-inches, unless they want to sell me another playset to fill out. Get Catra if you can find her at a price that doesn't make you question your budget or life choices.
