With the constant influx of new Blokees, I'm realizing I'm slow to open them and slower to review them. As such, I'm going to see if I can make Blokees Friday a regular feature for 2026. Let's find out!
Available as both a vehicle and a robot, Scavenger from Blokees is a mix of the toy and the cartoon in a tiny two-inch format. They took some license with the design, keeping the important green top and purple pants with the big shovel on the back. The head is still mostly a black helmet, and he's got a swell blaster. It is, undoubtedly, a very nice Constructicon figure at what may be the best-in-market price these days.
If you've been keeping up with these, you know the articulation is good. You have to assemble it and nearly every joint is a ball and socket, allowing for movement better than one might expect. The wrists even have a little bit of tilt in them, rather than just swivel. The ankles, the elbows, the knees, everything moves. Functionally identical to the other robots in the line, this particular character adds a shovel with three joints on the back for added accuracy. It's not a perfect match to the toy or cartoon, but it gets the job done.
When it comes to coloring, it's a little less good. I assume it might have been created from Earth Wars or some modern style guide, because the original toy had some silver on his eyes (and not red) while the cartoon had a silver face plate (which this toy leaves black.) The character's hands are usually green, but this one is black. The chest on the Blokees figure has two red "stickers" - the toy had one - but puts the Decepticon logo on the silver chest like the cartoon. It's arguably its own thing, and on that level it's a fun toy. It doesn't have tread legs, it doesn't have the caution stickers, but it's a green and purple robot with a bucket backpack for $3. It's good enough for the budget.
While not the most accurate figure in the collection, it does show how the company manages to reuse some parts to wind up with a figure that's a decent collectible kit for the price. Maybe we'll see version 2.0 later, or a custom 3D printed replacement, or not - but it's cute. I keep saying this, but for a Battle Beasts-sized Decepticon with articulation outpacing my wildest 1980s dreams? No complaints. There are compromises at this price point but in the context of the series (and four waves) I think it's good enough that you'd be happy pulling one from a case. And if you're not, just get the vehicle modes, and the Devastator torso, and put this guy away. Because it's a little off-model, it's interesting. But you know how things are, "interesting" isn't "accurate" sometimes and a lot of collectors may hold out for something else that may never come to pass. Get this if you are so inclined, the whole case costs less than a modern Voyager-class figure.
