I assume we won't see a ton of Masters of the Universe figures, and I'm a little surprised that Teela was the second release. After He-Man, I assumed we would see Man at Arms, or a He-man variant, or maybe even Stratos. Teela's new costume parts may open the door for an Evil-Lyn in short order, though, and that would be superb. The figure has a lot of deco and a decent complement of gear, making this another above average tiny figure.
This 2-ish inch scale figure is another good one, but you'll want to examine her face before purchase. Each one is a little different thanks to the multiple paint operations on her eyes, including eyeliner. Some are better than others, and most look good from a respectable distance. The macro lens of my camera is pretty unforgiving, so if you require absolute perfection I expect you will be hitting many Walmarts in your quest for the best. The white outfit is covered in gold accents, closely matching the action figure minus the snake hood. White trim was added to her boots and I'm a little surprised to see her gold waist armor hangs down lower than the original action figure.
It looks more or less like a mishmash of the original Teela figure with a bit of the cartoon look - the head is simplified but has whites in his eyes, unlike the original toy. The sword of power looks a lot like the cartoon, and the shield is a good match for the original toy.
Articulation is on par with the other figures, and she's about the same size too. Thanks to Mega Construx' form fits being good, she has no problems holding her two-piece accessories. The snake staff's head plugs in nicely, as does a grip for the back of her shield. Both are modeled after her original 1980s action figure gear, but I suspect many fans of the cartoon would rather have seen her sword included.
As a small, cheap figure I'd recommend her and the entire line - and I hope there are more. The slow-drip release of cheap, articulated action figures with bases like this are a real treat. I hope Mattel reaches in to its IP and keeps them coming - Hellboy, some Terminators, Mr. Worf, and more Aliens would be wonderful additions to the small scale. Teela won't change the way you look at toys, but this expression has really shown the potential in small-scale figures if the right manufacturer really gets behind them and gives them a nice push.
