I like this Galactic Holiday Voidrillia of the Voidrillion Command Luna Eclipse because her colors don't match any other human action figures I have in my toybox. She stands out. This 3 3/4-inch scale repaint of a resculpt turned out well, but according to Matt Doughty has some design connections to Queen Kirallius [FOTD #2,186], the figure from early 2020 that you regret missing. As a repaint of the original Luna Eclipse [FOTD #2,371], she has pretty much the same form factor. You can swap arms between bent and straight, she has a backpack, and there's a removable helmet with an opening visor. The figure one-ups the previous releases by adding a pair of blasters from the Cyclops action figure and a wild paint job, but you lose the glow-in-the-dark elements. Win some, lose some.
The figure has a subtle faction symbol on her chest, and I can't place it if it's an existing one. I assume this is the Voidrillion Command symbol, but it may not be the case. Her belly gem is a clear pink piece with a black circle, and on the whole she looks a lot like a typical human astronaut from this line. Minus the colors.
Luna has all the pros and cons of her previous release. The skinny legs and small feet tend to squeeze together, making it hard to keep her standing without assistance. (That's what the pole is for.) Her body is cartoonish in proportion, owing a lot to mid-century comics that your parents or grandparents saw in the likes of Playboy. Her back is arched in a way that seems quite painful, with her chest jutting out significantly. She's a little fetishy.
Molded in what seems to be almost a wine color, the figure has a black stripe down her body and black rings at her joints. You can barely see some of these details, but that's also what makes a figure like this fun - you can see things in person that you might not have noticed in the photos. Her hair and skin positively pop, as does the bolt pair bursting out of her backpack.
Her hands can easily hold her accessories, and her three-part helmet snaps around her neck collar. The visor flips up, and I think she looks better without it so you can see the painted red lips and the multiple tiny paint applications on her eyes.
This figure fits in well with the Onell Design crossover figures from over the years, fitting in with Matt Doughty's signature eye for color combos rather than Mel Birnkrant's timeless swatches we saw on the original bendable figures and their remakes. It's fun - we don't get a lot of orange or blue humanoid women in action figures outside of Marvel, so these indie figures are a nice and bizarre change of pace. You could have her hang out in one of your bar or space station playsets, and she'd fit right in. She's not my favorite Luna Eclipse - the first one has two-tone hair and glows in the dark - but this one is pretty fantastic. At $25 I'm sure wish she were cheaper, but inflation is cruel and it's not like I can buy anything like this at the stores near me that still sell action figures. I'd recommend her, just be ready to have her fall over on you a few times until you get a knack for how she wants to be posed.
