Booji Boy before one of their drummers. The brothers Casale and Mothersbaugh have figures, and technically this is the second Mark figure. The strange child character was son of General Boy and would sometimes sing in the live shows. You don't hear him much on the studio albums, but if you have Recombo D.N.A. or that Pioneers Who Got Scalped anthology you'll no doubt be familiar with the character. It's a neat figure, and the sculptor deserves a big pat on the back for making it interesting.

Sometimes I look at a figure and wonder if fans like me complaining resulted in a change. Booji's right hand is a typical accessory-gripping hand, while the left one is a very Kenner-esque claw-like hand. Go look at your 1978 Luke figure, or and you'll go "oh I get it." It's got a great retro feel, with a speed suit of some sort with an amazing silver paint color that's almost reflective. It's so good, I'm almost afraid to touch it. The wrinkles look great, and he's got a hint of a belly. There isn't much life to the pose, but I think they did a great job with the technical details on this guy.
His left hand can easily hold the microphone, while the synthesizer hangs around his neck from a rubbery strap. There's a lot of painted detail, and mine had a stripe that's askew. I haven't seen it in person elsewhere, so I assume mine is a one-off. I love how the speakers and dials look, but that black line is just not great. I guess weird paint masks would also be in line with some of the old Kenner figures, but on the figures and not the accessories. They very rarely had accessory paint budgets.
It's an amazing figure if you're a Devo fan, or if you want something weird in your sci-fi dioramas. It looks like a low-budget Cantina character knock-off, or something from Mr. Show's much later Racist in the Year 3000 sketch when you present the costume as an action figure. The rubbery mask hangs above the neck and the glasses are a super nice touch with the weird, colorful make-up. I don't own anything else quite like this, and it pushes all my weird music, sci-fi, and toy buttons. If you see it in a store, give it a look.
