This is the white one! Despite being from Power Lords in 2013, this white Elite Power Soldier looks more like it fell out of a Star Wars concept sketch from 1975. The helmet, coloring, and unique chest sculpting reek of McQuarrie's early trooper concepts as well as one of the various female "Luke"s, so I think most older action figure fans will see this in person and be immediately drawn to it. The fact that it's a well-engineered figure is just a lovely bonus.

Cast in white plastic, this figure is just the Power Soldier in white with a new head. This is, of course, good enough - both debuted at the same time and I have no doubt they made the best decision as to which helmet was white and which one was black. This feels like some bizarro Biker Scout figure, minus the hands and feet. The body suit - based on the Lord Power/Adam Power figure from 1983 - is similar to that used in the Prometheus movie if you squint. It works, it works nicely.

As the first Glyos figure to feature more "modern" bend-and-swivel articulation, it's worth noting that the wrists, ankles, and elbows use the smaller mini Glyos plug while the bulk of the rest of the limbs use normal ones. Due to the figure's construction, you won't be able to plug in other heads, arms, or legs to the Power Soldier torso easily. It swaps nicely with the other Power Soldier, and if you're willing to cram in parts from Phase Arms in there you can probably make anything fit. The 3 3/4-inch scale figure fits well into most vehicles - it passes the Landspeeder Test - so really, the Horsemen nailed it. Of course, their early Outer Space Men did as well and the legs became more and more restricted in the second year. It's my hope that future figures are similar in their range of movement, but with the unique body types that may not be possible. There aren't a lot of humans in this line, unless they decide to make some new ones.

Since I have no real notion of what a Power Lords figure should be as I've never owned one before, I really like these. It's a better concept Star Wars figure than most - so do be sure to track one of these down. It's too bad there's no chance of a video game based on this property, the designs are fantastic and would probably be really fun in some sort of a Metroid meets Street Fighter clone.
