One of the fun things about working in the toy business is that I can sometimes go to a company and say "Hey, can I get this made?" And sometimes they say yes - so Gogo Yubari (Bloody) Pop! Vinyl Figure just happened to work out as an Entertainment Earth exclusive which, unsurprisingly, pre-sold out. This happens a lot with their exclusives lately, and this one was a speedy sell-through. I quite like it - the idea was pretty simple. Take a popular figure, and add the bloody tears from the scene where she gets whacked on the back of the head. Grim, but a memorable (and horrifying) image.

Like other Pop! Vinyl figures, she's about 4-inches tall - but unlike the others, she's terribly skinny. So skinny, in fact, and with such tiny feet that she requires a display base. One of the problems I've found with figures that require a separate base is that gravity plus time equals bending, and her foot does bend when left on a stand overnight unless you put her head against a solid object. So prepare to support her a bit. These figures are usually pretty chunky, but the whole Japanese schoolgirl look no doubt benefits from tiny features rather than a slightly more powerful frame. Otherwise, the joke of the character is sort of lost.

The only moving part on the figure is her head. Her hair is painted brown, her eyes are black. The tears are, of course, red and there's a tiny hint of blush on each cheek. Were it not quite so macabre, it'd be adorable - so lucky for you, the normal version is going to be widely (as these figures are) available. The body is nicely sculpted and features tiny arms along with her ball-and-chain. I assume there's a high level of irony intended given the nature of the film and how it did a pretty decent job flipping gender roles in action movies on their head. If you squint, you can make out a crest on her blazer as well as a tiny tie and a white shirt. Her skirt lacks the pattern seen on the box art, but to keep costs down this sort of thing is more or less normal - she does have shoelaces, though, which is a nice touch.

While I would prefer to her to be able to stand unsupported, it does show the danger of limbs that aren't super-thick. Granted, you get a better looking figure given the character, but her relationship with gravity needs work. The Bride and O-Ren Ishii have similarly smaller bodies, with the Crazy 88 being a little bit more along the line of normal Pop! proportions. For ten bucks a whack you won't do much better than these figures in terms of collectibles for your desk. I'm quite fond of this one, but there are reasons that I am biased to love it. Should you happen across this bloody variant in your travels, the run was pretty low so I suggest snapping one up.
