One thing LEGO has done well since the 1990s is divers. There was a magnificent diver theme around 1997 with amazing figures, boats, and even a whale skeleton. They don't do many of those lately, but we did get a modern take on those diver figures with this Deep Sea Diver. He reuses the basic helmet design with a unique set of goggles that clamp on and rotate up, and he has a swell SCUBA tank on his back. There are even bright orange swim fins to complete the ensemble.
Articulation and quality is exactly what you'd expect from a LEGO figure: it's excellent. If you zoom in on his chest, you can see added detail like orange stitching and a little patch with an ocean wave, plus a belt painted on the figure. His face is a little more wrinkly than others, meaning the guy is either straining with his breath or is old. Take your pick. The figure looks great, with the blue, black, and bright orange bringing him to life nicely.
I found this guy to be pretty common-- I got a bunch of extras. This may explain why he's pretty cheap on eBay, about $3 or so in most cases. I'd say he's worth the $3 if you're gonzo for divers, if not you might want to put the money toward a monster or tennis player. But I repeat myself.
