I jumped on the Armorvor Standard Liocarrus. For those just joining us, his body has been used for dozens of figures. The lion head is new. I have a resin casting of the prototype head from ages ago, but they made a lot of changes to it - like cleaning up the hair, and adding an eye patch. It's a surprisingly dynamic rendition of a Glyos head, looking a lot like a piece of comic art come to life. I really like it. The body has been the same one for ages, but there's not much reason to change it up at this point.

I don't need more Armorvors at this point, but I'm inclined to pick up a new creature head when they show up and I'll be back for a Pirate Lion deco if/when that comes to pass. What's great about this release is both heads are different in fun ways, with very 1980s coloring that reminds me of some of my favorite Robo Strux.

The reason most collectors want this figure will be the new head. This was the very first fully-painted lion head, complete with lighter fur around the mouth and darker hair for his mane. The eye patch appears to be a separate, glued-on piece so presumably future releases could go without it. I especially like how his helmet seems to look like a Crayboth face. The level of detail is consistent with other figures in the line, but this might be the first Glyos release with long, wind-swept hair. Someone should reach out and remind me if I'm wrong. Queen Kirallius [FOTD #2,186] has a lot of hair, but not long strands. Liocarrus is lighter on texture, with a lot of smooth lines and clean, thick paint making the sections pop really well. This feels like one of the very best-painted heads in the line, it really goes well with its distinctive new-to-us sculpt.
The alternate head is a similar orange-furred wolf head, with what appears to be a glued-on eye patch. The red eye looks great, and the light orange fur around the mouth sells it as almost a new figure. And also almost as Garfield. I really like it - despite buying this figure for the lion head, I may ultimately keep the Wolf head on. Heads are easily swapped by popping them off at the peg, so you'll enjoy doing that.
The stocky figure is a roughly standard-for-most-Glyos 2 3/4-inches high, putting him in line with Pheyden, Sarvos, and your Playmobil collection. Each of his many joints not only swivels, but he pops apart. You can swap his limbs and various elements with the thousands of other Glyos-compatible figures released over the last couple of decades. Also, if you buy Funko Bitty Pop! figures, he's sized to stand at those arcade cabinets quite nicely.

If this figure didn't sell through, I'd recommend buying it right away. Hopefully you can find one on eBay, and hopefully Onell Design makes a few more fully-painted versions. They have put together quite the menagerie over the years, and I hope they still have the budget and inclination to make a new animal head every year or two. Since you can't get this one, be sure that you get the next version of Liocarrus.
