Part of the Sky Kingdom, the non-bird Moreek was one of the better designs in this line. The original Battle Beasts Blitzkrieg had a hook for a hand and a cybernetic eye, making this one look a little better for wear. Moreek has cybernetic goggles of some sort, purple armor, and a face that would be right at home in Snake Mountain with Skeletor's evil warriors. The big leathery wings look great, and he has deco on the interiors of his ears as well as his teeth. Takara-Tomy should be commended on a nice job here.
The obligatory dice launcher works as always, with the arms and legs sporting only limited articulation. It's probably enough, but the wings slightly block his arms and the legs really can't swing forward due to the design. Mine has had no problems standing around since I got it, which means it's a good figure in my book.
In some respects figures like Moreek make me a little sad we didn't see some repaints - "Batman" colors would be cute, as would an albino version to bring out the detail in the fur sculpting. It's a nice design that doesn't have a lot to do, other than hold his accessories and generally look neat. I mean, it's a bat! What could be better than that? Maybe a stand, I guess, that would allow him to hang upside-down. That would be lovely.
Seeing as how the green-die Sky Kingdom characters are almost entirely feathered birds (no penguins, for shame) Moreek is an oddball in the line. Of course, the entire line is a little odd so I doubt anyone is genuinely complaining about him in their respective toyboxes, and I like this figure a ton more today than I did when I purchased him nearly a year and a half ago. If the price is right (let's say under $10) go ahead and get him - you'll like him! You've paid more for less. If you read this site, I know that you have.
