I don't see Killer Shark Burst as an essential figure, but it's neat. Oh, and there's a chase version too! The trading card comes with either an etched foil border, or a standard border. The foil version ships 1 per case, and each BS-03 case has 3 sharks in it.
The figure has 4 points of articulation and is made of a soft, rubbery plastic. As these figures are blind-boxed it's sort of tough to figure out what you're getting. Not only is each figure sealed in a box, but opaque black plastic bags, cardboard inserts, and random, untaped chunks of cardboard await you in each box. They're really trying hard to make it possible to ID these without opening the box. Some figures have "chase" versions, including the Shark here. His "variant" is that 1:3 sharks have a bonus variant foil trading card. If you're compulsive about getting all versions of all the cards, you'll need to get two of this figure.
While technically a "repaint," the figure manages to do some pretty neat things with virtually no actual paint. The figure is molded in blue and dark black plastics, although they're clear. The figure's eyes are painted a gold color, plus the figure's die in his chest adds some silver. Everything else is molded in color, which is a ballsy move but hey, it worked on a lot of Playmobil toys.
The figure includes the token dice launcher, which is pretty much the same as the painted shark's. There's a sticker on the plunger, it's molded in black, and yeah. That's that. Nice eh? It works pretty well.
I'd say chase these down if you've got a thing for clear toys or are actively trying to collect them all. Or just love sea life figures. This shark is also notable in that he includes the Elephant's weapons rather than the 3-pack Shark's weapons. I think I need a better lit area to display these guys, they seem to demand some sort of illuminated shelf with light on the back to bring the most out of them.
