I wasn't too excited about Garrison G, and while I can say I honestly like it, it does fall short on a few accounts. Like height. He seems shorter than his brothers and (so far) sister, although he has massive arms with big, silver shoulder pads. The sculpt is great, and he looks a lot like a gorilla. He doesn't really look like the original Battle Beasts Gargantuan Gorilla, and from the earlier pictures I thought he had purple armor like in the old Planet of the Apes movies. Nope! It's a light brown, which isn't bad but it in no way amuses or delights me.
Like the rest of this line, the little guy has 4 points of articulation, a pair of dice, and a fully-functioning dice launcher on his person. His accessories are the same as the giraffe (Long Giraf) but they're a pretty solid fit. Well, the sword is, the shield's unique design ties in nicely to the giraffe's armor detailing so it feels a smidgen out of place here. There's not a lot of deco on it, so it's not much of a surprise that these figures go for less than SRP in Japan - I'm seeing them with 375 yen stickers, which is probably more in line with what this would be priced at in order for me to think I got a deal on it.
I'm collecting these because I'm dumb, and we at 16bit.com are dedicated to bringing you all things Battle Beasts as best we can on whatever budget we have. It's probably not worth importing unless you're getting a large order or stumble on a clearance sale. For $5 or $8, it's really cool. For $10, just for the one figure, it ain't bad. If you're collecting, try to keep the costs low as they're adding up fast.
