I was late to Masters of the Universe Origins, so I got Stinkor on eBay without the packaging, with some other figures. Sometimes it just makes sense to help another collector out and buy a collection if it looks pretty good and can fill a lot of gaps.
I'm not sure how strong the odor was originally, but it wasn't too overpowering when I got this guy. Now, I barelt notice a smell at all - unlike, say, Classics Perfuma which I kept in a closed box because the smell was overpowering. Stinkor seems to have just stopped smelling with time, which is interesting because some figures have a distinct plastic scent that never leaves. My original Darth Vader figure still has a distinctive odor and he's somewhere around 44-45 years old.

The only 5 1/2-inch Stinkor figure in the modern era so far, this figure did what Mattel did in the 1980s. The figure is Mer-Man, in new colors, with a shield and Mekaneck's armor. The new action feature was a stroke of genius, because adding colors or scents is a lot cheaper than making a new mold and somehow the fishy Mer-Man looks something like a skunk. The black plastic with painted white fur patterns sells the illusion quite nicely, and painting "gloves" on the hands and wrists just clicks. It's a little goofy, but it's how they did it back in the day - and it still works. All of the same articulation is still here, but the colors seem a little brighter.
There is paint on the armor, but the color difference is so subtle it can be hard to notice. But it's there. The boots are molded in orange, and the shield is cast in blue. His right hand has no problems gripping the shield, and the left is open - just like the original.
This guy never showed up in the Filmation He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon, allegedly because the staff through the fart joke was just not going to make the cut. Well, their loss. Thanks to his colors, he fits in pretty nicely with the Cartoon Collection figures and I've been keeping him around the back of Snake Mountain because he pops nicely even on a dark shelf.
He's currently inexpensive on the secondary market, so go ahead and get one. I can't imagine there will be much call for a reissue after the line seems to be settling down. Prices on He-man stuff are actually pretty decent, so it might be a good time to go hunting for things you missed. He doesn't have any cool weapons, and honestly he doesn't even really smell anymore. But at least he looks pretty cool and it's not like you have too many skunk-themed armored barbarian toys just yet, so I'd say he's worth adding to the Snake Mountain shelf.
