Even more Gormiti! The Clear Delos The Count of the Seas comes with the painted version of Alos the Hypnotiser, and the clearance rack made me buy this one. That, and a desire to get more of the "Sea Tribe" figures, even if they are a sorta dull clear color.

One of the better monikers in the line, Delos The Count of the Seas actually sounds a little menacing. A count? So what is he, royalty, a vampire? Either way, it sounds pretty neat for being a freakish creature made up of various forms of sealife. He has claws, tentacles, shells, more shells, and a third eye granting him psychic powers-- really! It says so on the trading card.

The figure itself is merely OK. I've seen the painted ones at full price, but the clear one is just sort of unexciting, and is sort of a dud given that the 4-packs get 4 fully-painted figures. The smaller product seems to be aiming more for the "collectible".shtmlect, which I guess makes sense but I'd vastly prefer being able tog et a version of the figure that looks better. The design is pretty neat-- the blue-tinted clear plastic, orange, and blue do look nice together but it means you trade away some wonderful sculpted detail. His fins, horns, and other bits fade into the plastic unless properly lit. If you have it backlit, though, it can look pretty damn slick.

The painted figure in this set is Alos the Hypnotiser, a pale blue owl with white wings-- which is sort of odd-- and yellow horns, claws, and beak. The card paints him as a controlling nightmare with crushing claws who attacks by night. While I appreciate the critter angle-- particularly as a fan of Battle Beasts-- the wings feel like they were ripped from a separate creature, and the abs are just freaking weird. I like the fuzzy, feathery detail... and the muscles on the legs do make sense to me. Angel wings feels a little wacky, but abs? Really? And a speedo? Clearly, this is a product from Italy. (Just kidding Italy. [Confidential to everyone else: Man, those Italians are nuts.])

As I picked this up at a closing store for a buck or two, I am not complaining about the overall quality-- these are fun, neat figures although I'm not crazy about clear ones as being part of the regular mix. (As chase figures? Totally cool.) At about 1 1/2-inches tall, they're about the same size as Marvel Universe Handful of Heroes, but a smidgen smaller than some M.U.S.C.L.E. or other similarly sized figures. (I still don't know about how they compare to Monster in my Pocket. I'm trying to find some but none of the damn local collector/thrift/etc. shops have any.)
