Sometimes Funko grabs a stylized cartoon license like The Bravest Warriors and their Pop! Vinyl figures are perfect. Catbug is a little smooshed relative to his cartoon design, but it's unquestionably Catbug in its demeanor thanks to the distinctive mouth, eyes, and coloring. This is in opposition to The Simpsons line that which while recognizable doesn't really sing in the same way these guys do.
Catbug is short - closer to 3-inches in height. The alien creature isn't quite as rotund, and the toy's head is much boxier. It works well - if you don't compare the animation model with the toy, it's not obvious it was drastically changed because so much else was retailed. The flipper-like arms and legs are here, as is the adorable kitty-like mouth and the white eyes with a thin black outline. It's Catbug - and if that weren't enough, his ladybug-esque shell is also present with red and purple on his back. Since they applied cartoon-specific coloring and features, Catbug makes a good transition to this style.
There are a fair amount of licensed Bravest Warriors items, with more than one Catbug out there in the vinyl figure category. As such, you can get something more true to the animation model than this stylized figure, but can you beat ten bucks? Probably not. That's why I grabbed this little guy and Impossibear. They're cute and the paint is great for what it is, which is effectively something much better than a blind-boxed toy but not as good as a modestly-priced vinyl figure. The cartoon styling and coloring makes it totally worth the asking price, so get one before they retire it.
