The immortal stereotype of convenience store workers everywhere, Apu turned out to be a great action figure.
Apu comes in the Kwik-E-Mart Playset with two accessories (tofu dog, Squishee) and has four points of articulation.
Flying off the shelves, Apu just seems to have hit the right button with fans. The figure looks like the ever-pleasant (except when unpleasant) register jockey and the playset he's packaged with is icing on the cake. There's really nothing to gripe about when it comes to this figure.
The accessories aren't bad, but aren't plentiful. A hot dog of some sort is a prerequisite for any such store to have, and the Squishee's a given. The Squishee is, of course, another cup-with-a-sticker accessory, which was later recycled and given to Millhouse.
