I like M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E., and their decision to jump down to arguably lesser characters fast in Set D is an interesting move. Characters like Orko and the Sorceress may not be fan favorites, but they're some of the most famous faces in the franchise - and will hopefully be in series 2. This set focuses on other heroes, perhaps less seen in the cartoons but still interesting to look at in the format of cheap wrestling toys.
Kicking off the set is Buzz-Off. His wings seem to be integrated into the one-piece sculpt and not glued in, but I could be wrong here. Little details on them look great, and another cool detail is Buzz-Off's battle helmet complete with its giant bee eyes. Three-toed feet and claw hands top off warty, scaley limbs and a striped torso with fuzzy briefs. The pose is good too, giving the old M.U.S.C.L.E. feel without being too on the nose about it. He doesn't quite have the sausage limbs, but it's still a decent figure with decent - if small- fanged head.
He is, so far, the only winged figure in the line. The wings don't feel like they'll rip off the figure easily, but given their initial fast sell-out I don't want to test it either.
With only one face, Man-E-Faces loses a bit of his charm. Trap Jaw's legs are still used to make this cybernetic warrior, but he still has a vestigial knob on his head to activate the absent gimmick. The pose is more un-M.U.S.C.L.E. than the others, with arms facing forward instead of off to the sides. The proportions are also closer to Masters of the Universe, with one of the smallest faces in all of Super7's offerings. His harness has genuinely incredible detail and his unique pose keeps the line from looking too samey, but the lack of a flat sculpt does seem somewhat distracting.
The strangely perfect Ram Man is a winner. His legs are fused together like the original toy, with arms posed hanging at the sides in balled-up fists. It's not really out of line for the wrestlers, and he's quite wide relative to his waist. The springy legs, detailed chains on his armor, and decent face sculpt make this pretty cool. I can't help but wonder just how amazing this figure would be if he could "jump" like the original toy, but such things are not possible in this format of figure at this price point. (Maybe they could fudge it with magnets repelling him.) He looks right, at least as far as this line goes. He's even got the little skull belt buckle.
I don't like this set as much as the ones with He-Man and Skeletor, but I assume Ram Man is a required purchase. Also for $6, I don't care if I love it or not - for three little dudes, I only have to like it. And I do like this set enough to say it's worth the asking price, but perhaps not the premium prices in the wake of Comic-Con this year.

Note: I ordered the set after Comic-Con as I was unable to make it to the pop-up store after waiting in line at their booth on a break. They tossed in a Purple Skeletor, Skeletoken, and some cards. Nice freebies.
