More fun! This set of Masters of the Universe M.U.S.C.L.E. gets you Flesh Moss Man, Faker, and Snake Mountain. At first glance it looks like it might be He-Man and Beast Man, but no - these are other guys, and they tweaked the sculpts so they're clearly different dudes.
Let's get started with Moss Man, now looking like the cartoons or mini-comics. He has a wider, kinder face with an Abe Lincoln-esque beard. Were he painted brown, you'd assume he was Bigfoot were it not for the telling furry underpants. The pose is classic tiny wrestler, with two fists raised on what may well be the hairiest body in the entire line. I dig the bushy beard and the overall vibe as a heroic warrior comes through, although I doubt anyone would assume this was meant to be a pine-scented hero were they not versed in Eternian history.
The Faker figure gets it. The original 1980s figure was basically He-Man, cast in blue, but with Skeletor's accessories. This figure retains that build, complete with his armor - but makes his face angry and mean. The sword is thicker than other He-Man figures of this size, and the fairly hard rubbery figure turned out nicely. He's sturdy and stands well, with a fist raised to punch some other figure in the face. You wish you had this toy as a kid.
Finishing out this place is a fine piece of real estate. Snake Mountain takes the original toy and scales it down - there's an adorable wolf head on top next to the handle, plus you get the weird monster face and a giant snake popping out of the top. You can see all kinds of alcoves mimicking the original toy, plus stairs and textures and all that good stuff. I'm really pumped that they included this, and I'd probably rebuy it in purple given the chance. I do have a tinge of sadness that we don't have an actual playset sized similarly to Tim Mee Toys' Battle Mountain [FOTD #645], but the audience probably wouldn't be huge. It'd be cool, though!
For six bucks, you'll get your money's worth. The little playset and two cool figures are a fun get, although I'm sure we're nearing the end of what Super7 could easily sell. There are some series 1 figures worth redoing, and I suppose they could get in to She-Ra or Snake Men, but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm digging it.
