Flesh wasn't enough - black and purple M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E. figures got out, too! Debuting at San Diego Comic-Con as a freebie (and also appearing in some mail order boxes), this Skeletor adds some color and actual flavor to the collection. It's more opaque than the flesh counterparts, and the purple isn't all that far off from my classic M.U.S.C.L.E. purple figures. It's not a perfect match, but nothing is in this sector.
Grape Skeletor is basically just as good as the regular one - you get the Havoc Staff, the skull face, the armor, and the three-toed feet. It's Skeletor as you've always loved him, just shorter and more difficult to find. I thought I read they gave away several thousand of these, but heck if I can find that number now. I want to say it was something like 10,000 or more but that may be wrong. I believe I heard they were also handed out in the Mattel booth, but I didn't see any while I was there.
The pose is good - it's not exactly like a M.U.S.C.L.E. figure, but it's exactly like the flesh colored Skeletor in the 3-pack. The feel is basically the same too, but it seems a tiny smidgen stiffer. It could be my imagination. The purple color is probably the most conducive to seeing the figure's detail with the naked eye, with the various miniature rivets, bone cracks, and textures showing up a lot more easily in less-than-optimal lighting. They did a nice job here, and I hope that we see more molds in more colors down the road. I may still just buy flesh, but it's clear the other colors do wonders for the sculpts.
I really dig this line - I think you should score some of these if the price is right. This one usually goes for ten bucks or less, which is kind of expensive for a single tiny figure but well, it is nice. I'd say $5 and you'll be happy, $15 and you'd probably rather buy something more substantial unless you're a hardcore Keshi fan. It's my hope that the entire line gets cheaper after the New York Comic Con drop and the market levels off, but you never know - maybe more people will have a taste for them now?

Note: I ordered the set after Comic-Con as I was unable to make it to the pop-up store after waiting in line at their booth on a break. They tossed in a Purple Skeletor, Skeletoken, and some cards. Nice freebies.
