Another great series! Masters of the Universe M.U.S.C.L.E. continues with Panthor, Mekaneck, and Prince Adam. Nearly every set in this series has some version of He-Man or Skeletor, which seems like a smart move to get people into the line who might not be collecting them all.
First up is Panthor, which is a lot like Battle Cat. Series 2 (or later) figures can easily ride it, as can series 1 Skeletor thanks to him being a little rubbery. He's basically the same pose and general look as Battle Cat minus the helmet. You'll notice small changes from figure to figure, specifically in the saddle and musculature, but they're effectively the same thing. Just different. He has very little sculpted fluffy bits, with big teeth and what vaguely looks like whiskers. He's actually pretty cute.
Next up is Mekaneck. When the 2002 line came out, I spent a lot of time hunting him down because he looked like he'd be a fun figure - and he was. This little one replicates it with the extended neck, fists raised and armor present. The distinctive look is all here, complete with furry briefs. The angular goggles and helmet are here, as is his distinctive face. I almost wish I could play with the neck mechanism, but given what this is I realize why that isn't possible.
Last but not least, Prince Adam. Without paint, he looks a lot like He-Man or Faker - both of which are also in this series. Prince Adam has a vest, but it's hard to tell because it's skin tight and you can totally see his rippling muscles. He has a sword, the briefs, the boots, and a big smile. It's not quite as cheesy as the cartoon, but it's a bit brighter than the original action figure with exaggerated, enlarged eyes. He has a different pose than the other He-Men, and is less combat-oriented in appearance. My hat is tipped to the sculptor for giving these very similar figures different personalities based on tiny changes to the poses.
At this point, what can I say? It's a great set. It's worthwhile, it's cheap, and it's fun if you're buying these anyway. I'd say to collect them all since they're cheap, as they're all nicely made and the second and third series are a lot more consistent than the first.
