Rounding out Mega Man M.U.S.C.L.E. with one more set, Super7 brought us Flesh Dr. Wily, Cut Man, and Guts Man from the original game. Guts Man is smaller than I'd have liked, but these are all still decent figures.
I'm not sure if there's a specific reference drawing for this Dr. Wily, but he absolutely looks right with the big mustache, giant mane, and bald head with the bushy eyebrows. It looks like most of the artwork - he has his coat, his tie, and his expression is one of bored malice. The straight arms with fists is a curious choice, but not inconsistent with the classic Kinnikuman toys. The pose shows some level of resolve and determination, while the general costume is about as goofy as you might hope.
With sharp bunny ears, Cut Man towers over Guts Man - who looks short thanks to his wide stance. Cut Man has scissors handles for ears, sharp blades on his head, and long arms with two balled-up fists. The figure closely matches the Rockman Complete Works art book, complete with an access panel and various vents on the back. The pose is close, and the face has the big eyes you've come to hope for. This is a good one, and I love the extra detailing on the back side of the figure.
Lastly: Guts Man. He seems small because next to Cut Man, he's tiny - but he's beefy and wide, and about as tall as Dr. Wily minus his hair. Sadly, it doesn't make this big, mighty robot look either - he still has the underbite and familiar helmet design. He has the back boosters and other greeblies from the art book, plus wide arms and big fists that really work for the character. He just seems relatively small compared to his pack mates. The eyes are lively with a big, almost smiley mouth and a lot of personality - it's a great figure unto itself.
If you buy one of these packs, you're probably going to buy them all. I love how the robot masters look like the art book turnarounds, and it's nice to see added detail on some of them. It'd be nice if some were bigger, but such is life. They may not all have the same pose or personality as the NES game, but they're nifty enough that I'll buy Mega Man 2 figures if and when Super7 puts them out. I do wish I had these as a child, but at least I have them now.
