New York's American International Toy Fair February 14, 2012
Conflict of Interest! I do a lot of work with Bif Bang Pow! on some of their licenses, so yeah, impartial this is not. No final answer was given on the Venture Bros. 3 3/4-inch action figure line, meaning that yes-- even I don't know what is going to happen here yet. Did you pre-order? Because that's going to make a difference. New figures in the Mego style include Jefferson Twilight and Pete White, both of which were shown as mock-ups with fairly far along costumes and paper mock-up heads.
New licenses include Classic Battlestar Galactica and Six Million Dollar Man, both of which will include the retro figures. Steve Austin was there, but not shown due to needed refinements. (Yes, I saw it.) The BSG Bobble Heads were really nice, I was particularly delighted by the Cylon in silver, black, and gold action figure forms.
No new Twilight Zone prop replicas were shown, but there were new bobble heads from the show's opening and a few key characters. Doctor Who has added several more classic characters... but what's going on for modern? Ain't tellin'. Still, enjoy the Mego-scale Dalek, because I crazy glued that prototype together myself.
I'd also like to point out the barware, I'm particularly happy with the Fourth Doctor and Eleventh Doctor glasses which are largely represented by neckwear. It's good stuff, people.
