And my axe! It's finally time for LEGO Lord of the Rings, which will displace Castle and Kingdoms for a little while. The sets look amazing, with Helm's Deep and The Mines of Moria bringing dads back to the toy store to purchase these "for the kids." Wink, wink. The sets span $10 to about $130, and you can get a ton of really cool figures in here. Heck, you can even get Shelob. The entry-level set includes Frodo, Gandalf, and some other pieces for about ten bucks, and I assume we'll all be buying it when it hits stores around August. To say the least, this looks like a really fun line. The horses have even been retooled, and they can now stand on their hind legs.
No sets for The Hobbit were shown, but they are due around December. Despite the book and stylized representations of said book being around for half a century, apparently this needs to be kept a secret. A LEGO Hobbit Game is also in development.
