I'm a sucker for hazardous materials figures, so I found Hazmat Guy right up my alley. A very similar G.I. Joe figure came out a few months later, and Playmobil did their hazmat figures in green suits originally 10 years ago. What took the rest of you so dang long?
The figure is notable in that he has a special hood with clear plastic around the face and orange plastic covering the head, which has a place to connect his, uh, "high-tech equipment." That's what the bio online calls the gun thing, whatever it is. I'm wondering if it's a vacuum of sorts, which would explain why he's so freaked out. Just look at his face-- this is like someone who went to the bathroom and something crawled in instead of going out. The vaguely radiation hazard symbol is pretty cool too, and I was delighted to see they gave him a belt and a few other details under the mask. They could have probably left the torso completely unpainted and you'd never be the wiser.
This is one of those figures you just need to get because it's neat. Actually, you might want a few of them just so they can do some cleanup on the LEGO town that you, like I, assume you will build as you approach middle-age and realize that hair plugs and sports cars won't cut it. I find this figure delightful, and I'm sure you will too.
