This is a good one. At first I thought that the Gorilla Suit Guy may have been designed as an actual animal, but no, it is not. It's meant to be a guy in the suit, right down to the zipper on his back to the sweaty guy under the mask. I'm impressed with these little details, and I picked up this figure quite late. Rather than going through bags, I bought a set for cheap on eBay, and I think this is the way to to it.
The most impressive element on this figure is the new mask sculpt which, unless I'm mistaken, has never been used anywhere else. The gorilla's eyes are actually little holes, and the minifigure's eyes peek out from behind them. It fits perfectly, the engineering couldn't possibly be any better. It's really impressive that it fits so well, particularly when most toy figures are a little awkward. With LEGO, the engineering usually has to be perfect and here, it is.
I think this is the first "mascot costume" in the line and as such, you may have various reasons to want to buy it. I love the idea that there's a figure suffering inside, but I'm a bad person. The gray paint brings it to life nicely, and the banana... well, I'm sure Axel Foley and Judge Reinhold will have a field day chasing after cars and cramming them in the exhaust pipes. This is one of the best figures in series 3, earning high marks for creativity, decoration, and engineering. If it shows up cheap, get it. You should have little problem getting one for $3-$5 before shipping.
