As the line moved along, figures like the Galaxy Patrol managed to provide more bang for the buck. Not only did he include new bulky space marine armor, but he had the added benefit of having extra head deco. On one side was a normal yellow face, and on the other was an orange-tinted "helmeted" fighter. Neat! He reminds me of Starcraft.
For some reason my notes said "Bounty Hunter," but hey, let's go with Galaxy Patrol. This figure has a similar space helmet to other figures we've seen as of late, but adds to the look some stubble and an eyepatch. The heavily decorated body has silver armor and what appears to be the word "LUIZ" on his shirt, which I assume is a Tuckerism for some young fan. This is hidden under the added armor piece, so maybe it's an Easter Egg.
The flipside of the head with the targeting sight was a great idea, and it gives the toy a heck of a lot more personality. He lacks the laser blasts of other space figures from this line, but he does include a swell and fairly unique gun. I'm really jazzed to see LEGO slip out space figures here and there, particularly because it's a lot cheaper than me dropping $20 on a set just to get the one LEGO man. (Don't deny it, you've done this too.) I'd say he's worth tracking down, particularly for the going rate on eBay of $6 or less.
