I found Bluestar Astrodite to be a great thing and something from the Ironic Punishment division of toy making. I love glow toys, I love The Outer Space Men, and a few orders in 2023 proved to be too much of a good thing. She sat in a box in my photo room for a few years despite being every bit as good as her peers. The $15 figure was marked down to $10 - unusual, as many figures go up in price from this maker as they sell through - so I assume she wasn't a hit. That's not her fault, they did a nice job.

Future toy archaeologists: the Bluestar releases were scattered, some I never saw a formal release date, and some data is wrong. My notes say this was delayed and went on sale in June 2023, but the Glyos Wiki lacks an entry for the figure and the shop says it was 2022. Instagram is tough to search and drill down, so I'm going with what my notes say.

The 3 3/4-inch scale woman from Venus brings you all the things that you liked about the other versions, but in blue. The clear milky plastic doesn't exactly show off all the sculpted detail. That's what the paint is for, showing off the hair texture and feathers that might be otherwise invisible. The figure sports painted eyes, boot soles, accordion joints, and neck. It does a decent job giving your eyes a place to look rather than just at a space suit, so I'm glad they went the route of adding some color. In her case, I wish that they also decorated the tubes over her shoulders. I think those would benefit from a little color.

The staff is cast in a stiff ABS, while the PVC crossbow was completely bent out of shape on my sample. I dipped it in some boiling water and that seemed to fix it right up. They fit in her hands without much of a fuss, and it's worth noting that the staff serves mostly as a cane to keep her upright.

Her narrow stance and tiny feet make it easy to knock her over, so be sure to make use of the staff or lean her against a shelf. Using the bent elbows lower her staff a bit, so keep that in mind if you ever get this one. The detail is quite good, taking cues from some classical-era statuary but you're unlikely to notice that distinct profile at this size and in this color. Clear-ish milky blue plastic may glow for hours, but it's murder on the hard work the Four Horsemen put into sculpting this figure.

A number of (admittedly lesser) characters in the line have been slashed to $10-$15, which is my "don't ask questions, buy 'em all" price on a 3 3/4-inch indie Glyos figure. Unfortunately, some are long sold out and some are going to cost you. I've been a fan of this line since I read about them in Tomart's Action Figure Digest, mostly because they just looked so amazing in full color with their awesome card photography. This figure has none of that helping her, but it's still a cool 3 3/4-inch space figure that I'd recommend to Star Wars kids and fan of the whole ReAction Figure space. I hope Team OSM can get a few more painted figures out before the molds go away (or failing that, give me permission to do it) because I have to assume Marble Astrodite or Tarnished Copper Finish Astrodite would look awesome. If you don't have any glowing blue Glyos figures, give this one a shot. Leave her in the Sun for maybe a minute or two, and she'll glow in the dark for actual hours. It's pretty dim at the end, but it's still hours more glow than you get with a green or red figure.
