Very few figures of Ripley were made that look like Sigourney Weaver, supposedly due to her not licensing her likeness to toys from this franchise (or so is the story). This one is a tiny, 3-inch scale die-cast metal figure so there's very little room for detail, particularly in the 1990s when you were lucky if the hair didn't match the eyebrows and eyes.
There's not much to her-- or the line. This 4-pack was pretty much everything for Action Masters ALIENS, but there's a single-carded Alien Queen too. No other marines were produced for the line, so all you get is Ripley with a pulse rifle. She has no articulation and, frankly, isn't much to look at-- but she's the first Aliens Ripley to be made in anything resembling her movie outfit, which I suppose is worth something. At least it exists, and by 1990s Kenner die-cast metal standards ain't all that great. A Princess Leia figure from the same line looks significantly better, but that may be thanks to her pose and distinctive hair.
Depending on where you live, this set was scarce stuff in the 1990s-- I believe mine came from a collector shop as few to no big box stores carried some of the Action Masters items. Today, this set is effectively free. Well, $5, but it's a bargain and serves as a reminder that the best solution for toy collectors when it comes to rising manufacturing costs in China is to go vintage. We're basically dealing with the same licenses and properties anyway, and it's not like there's a perfect Weaver head on a figure out there for ALIENS anyway. With no articulation, she's a fun desk piece-- plus she's heavy so she won't fall over easily. She also isn't much to look at, but it might be a long time until we get one that actually looks like Ms. Weaver.
