What's she buying in there? When the hell is she buying in there? We have a right to know. The Playmobil Shopper has a big shopping bag which I assume is some sort of plastic goo, or some shampoo. She has three bottles and, of course, a sexy hat.

The "Girls" line has been loaded with variety in a way you don't expect from gendered pink/blue packaged toys. Yes, you get a boy (or girl) per the colors - but there are some pretty nifty options. This series has sporty people, rescue people, socially active people, undead people, German people, and in this case a young woman going shopping. Admittedly, that's more or less what you expect but it's still a pretty nifty figure. She has gray tights with a clip-on skirt to complete the dress from her molded-on blue top. Tiny white dots add a lot of personality, and the red hair really pops from under the hat. Why a hat? I have no idea. I had her marked as "Hipster" in the directory where I shot these pictures from five years ago.

Her big bag has rubber straps she can sling over her shoulder, allowing her to cart her purchases around. You get a pink bottle, an orange bottle, and a green bottle. What are they? I don't know, the stickers were left out. It's a pretty decent amount of parts for a set like this, although I have pretty much no use for more bottles unless I get a store shelf to stock some day. I suppose it's probably healthier than giving her a smart phone or a gun, although maybe a sword would be fun.

Some of the figures have unique construction so you can't easily swap all parts with all other figures. Her build pre-assembles the legs and interior torso clip, so you don't need to fuss with that. The shoes are pre-molded on in black, so those aren't going anywhere either. The legs swing forward together, but you can move the arms separately. Each one has jointed wrists, making for a level of articulation that was superior to a lot of the figures I grew up with.

Despite having this figure for a few years, and believing her to be well-executed, I don't really know what to do with her. Such is the curse of the blind bag. Playmobil made a mall but sadly it wasn't a 1980s shrine to teenage consumerism with arcades and movie theaters, and most of the bigger sets I buy are licensed or involve dinosaurs. I could probably use some sort of downtown area or a subway car someday. Thanks to her skirt, she won't be sitting on a city bus or a bench either making her a figure that really has to work by herself. I think they did a great job with her. I love the glasses. I just need to find a place for her to belong before time forces me or someone else to give her a new home.
