New York's American International Toy Fair Hasbro Event February 15, 2011
By the Power of Grayskull! ...is not what anyone will be saying in this movie, but it is directed by Kenneth Branaguhghah (actual British spelling) and stars some guy who, in the promotional shots, looks a lot like Will Ferrell.
Since Hasbro has the master toy license for this (and Captain America, and other stuff) we'll be seeing a fair amount of Thor: The Mighty Avenger stuff. In addition to a robust 3 3/4-inch action figure line, there are also numerous roleplay toys like helmets, a hammer, and a dagger that totally looks like a dong. I've seen this item presented to adults, and I can tell you that there were indeed giggles. Also odd, some of the roleplay weapons have "THOR" written on them in big letters, much the same way mothers write names in your underwear. How odd.
Below, kindly find a dump of pictures I took at Hasbro's press event. It looks like upwards of 20 figures are coming for the movie, Natalie Portman (as of yet) not among them. There are numerous comic characters on deck, though.
