The originals! Mostly on loan from toy collector and all-around nice guy John Kent, the original Power Lords line hasn't been displayed in public all that much. Packaged samples of many figures plus numerous opened toys, costumes, and board games show that the line had some "oomph" behind it despite fading away after a couple of short years. In the 1980s, "a couple of years" wasn't the eternity it is today, when action figures come and go in two or three months.

Unlike a lot of toys from the 1980s, this line is actually somewhat difficult to acquire in perfect, packaged condition. Numerous figures were sold on closeout at Kay-Bee, and well, here they are! Take a look at them. They're pretty amazing up close, as nearly every figure sports some sort of alternate identity with nifty bonus accessories like an opening claw or a reversible head. Nifty stuff!
