Man and Robots vs. Bugs! While LEGO had its sci-fi space program more or less grounded since the introduction of Star Wars up until just a few years ago, we're now graduating from the very cool Space Police to the more action-oriented Galaxy Squad line-up.

While bug-eyed aliens of various makes have been on deck in Space Police, the new Galaxy Force focuses mostly on a bug-like range of antagonists duking it out with white-armored humans with colored stripes. In many respects it's vaguely like a lot of 1980s TV shows for kids. The 70709 Galactic Titan (pictured below) was my favorite, mostly due to its ability to separate in two and the impressive windshield with a slick display sticker. It has a little tiny alien outpost too, as it seems LEGO abhors a set without conflict much like nature abhors a vacuum.
Sets started showing up late in 2012, and more are on the way. Not shown: a 30230 Mini Mech, a small, orange walker craft is showing up in Walmart's polybag assortment as of March 2013. Other small sets may show up throughout the year.
